Guide: How to record baby’s heartbeat on our Heartbeat Bears
Recording your unborn baby's heartbeat onto a Be My Bear sound recorder for use in our Heartbeat Bears couldn't be easier and below we've put together a quick guide to help you do just that. Just remember to bring the heartbeat recorder (you don't have to bring the bear) to your next routine scan and make yourself familiar with the following instructions.
- To start the recording, turn the dial on your sound recorder to the position marked "R" (which stands for record) and then hold down the large central button. A red light should become illuminated on the side of the sound recorder which indicates that the recording process is now active.
- To stop the recording, simply release the large central button and then turn the dial on your sound recorder to the position marked "P" (which stands for play). Press the large central button to hear your recording played back to you. If you are happy, hold down the large central button for approximately 12 seconds until you hear a beep. The sound recorder is now locked to stop accidental erasure of your recording.
- To play the recording, make sure the dial on your sound recorder is in the position marked "P" (which stands for play), and then press the large central button. The recording of your baby's heartbeat will then be played back to you.
- To unlock the recording so you can record over it, make sure the dial on your sound recorder is in the position marked "P" (which stands for play), and then hold the large central button for approximately 12 seconds until you hear 2 beeps. The sound recorder is now unlocked and the recording can be erased.
- To turn off your sound recorder, make sure the dial on your sound recorder is in the position marked "O" (which stands for off). Your sound recorder is now off and safe for storage.
